  1. Division Villages Les Petits Fers Gamay Noir

Division Villages Les Petits Fers Gamay Noir

"Division Winemaking Company was founded in 2010 by Thomas and Kate Monroe after living at Kate's family cottage in the Loire Valley, studying winemaking and viticulture.. Together they produce small batch wines focused on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Gamay Noir from sustainably farmed vineyards in the northern Willamette Valley of Oregon. As favored by the couple, the wines have higher acid structure, less extraction and modest alcohol - inspired by the wineries of Loire, Beaujolais and Burgundy regions of France.
The result of our Les Petits Fers Gamay Noir was a deliciously fruity, somewhat richer and spciy wine with classic Gamay characteristics. We are reminded of the more spicy Loire Valley Gamay wines that is showing raspberries, black pepper, a hint of licorice and rose petals on nose. The palate is mineral rich, and intense in raspberries with some spicy and funk notes. The wine is medium bodied and very smooth (especially for the vintage), and has a deep color for Gamay. This wine is drinking very well at the moment in it's early youth, but likely continue to evolve over the coming months and hopefully even years." - Winemaker Notes Learn More

  4. Terres Dorees Beaujolais l'Ancien VV

    Terres Dorees Beaujolais l'Ancien VV

90 points Neal Martin, Wine Advocate,
"The 2012 Beaujolais L'Ancien Vieilles Vignes Les Terres Dorees comes from 40- to 50-year-old vines. It has a crisp blueberry and dark cherry bouquet with just a hint of fresh fig. Supple on the entry, it displays endearing balance and focus, with a taut stony finish that reeks of class. Drink now-2022.
There are two reasons why I have included a Beaujolais producer in this collection of Burgundy notes. Firstly, I have adored Jean-Paul's wines for many years and I cannot wait to tell you about them, just like my colleague David Schildknecht. Secondly, he approaches his wines and vinifies them in a Burgundian rather than Beaujolais style. I will follow up with more releases from this estate later in the year when I visit the region."
