  1. Chateau D'Oupia Minervois Rose

    Chateau D'Oupia Minervois Rose

André Iché, who passed away in November of 2007, was a legend in the Languedoc. He inherited a 13th century castle and a large estate in the barren Minervois region, tended his very old vines and made wines but sold everything in bulk to local négociants. Years later, a Burgundian winemaker happened to taste his wine in Oupia and was so enthused that he convinced Iché to bottle and market his production. 35 year-old Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault. Brilliant fruit and a spicy finish. Learn More

  2. Puech Haut Prestige Rose

    Puech Haut Prestige Rose

In 2000, Gerard Bru sold his business and planted vineyards on the foothills of the Cevennes, an area he knew well because as a little boy he spent his youth there hunting and working with his grandfather in local vineyards. There was not a single vine in the soil until Bru planted one but he was convinced that the terroir, covered in olive tress and wild herbs, would be conducive to spectacular wines. Today, Château Puech-Haut occupies 170 hectares including 100 hectares of vines in Saint-Drézéry, a small village 15 km northeast of Montpellier, in the foothills of the Cevennes and belongs to the AOC Coteause du Langedoc. In Provence, a "Puech" means a small hill (or mountain), a "Puech-Haut" is a hill higher than the others. This position, on a hill higher than the others, is conducive to exceptional drainage for the vineyards. The clay and limestone soil is composed of boulders brought by the Rhone in the Quaternary and its plots reside on hillsides protected from excessive temperatures by the nearby Mediterranean Sea and winds including the Mistral, the north wine pervasive in the region. This wine comes from vines 30-60 years old, and planted on a clay calcareous soil. The Prestige Rosè is 50% Grenache and 50% Cinsault finished in a unique opaque bottle with an all glass closure. The 2010 Coteaux du Languedoc Saint-Drezery Prestige Rose offers a luscious, surprisingly full yet refreshing meld of red berries, honeydew, and watermelon tinged with mint and oregano. Learn More
